Education — Q&A

Most longitudinal studies show stronger early literacy when children start in a familiar language before transitioning to English or French later.

Tuition is rarely the only cost — uniforms, books, transport and lost household labour often remain the bigger barrier even after fees are waived.

Where employers actively recruit from technical colleges, graduates often out-earn general degree holders early on; the stigma is fading faster than the funding gap.

Lack of sanitary facilities, safety concerns on the commute, and early marriage pressure are cited most consistently across the episodes in this series.
